Private Character Introduction: Kaidan (Brain Camp AU)
Sep. 5th, 2015 01:53 pmKaidan had plenty of time to go back over what had happened in the isolation cell he was tossed in.
That didn't mean he wanted to.
It was dark in the cell, and they'd run him into a redzone calorie deficit by turning the heat way down and not sending any food his way that first day. He'd given up illuminating the room with his corona when he realized they didn't trust the dampeners to keep his biotics contained.
Not after the strength of the attack he'd hit Vyrnnus with.
So he sat in the dark, shivering, starving, head aching with the backlash of no food and the amount of energy he'd burned murdering the head administrator.
Well, at least he didn't have anything in his stomach to throw up.
When the alarms started to blare, muffled through the walls, he'd started to his feet. "Damn it, Shepard." He just knew that his friend was behind whatever was happening out there. And Kaidan wasn't there to keep him from whatever crazy ass stunt he was pulling that was going to get him killed.
If Shepard died... Kaidan went back to his corner, dropped back down with his head spinning.
When the door crumpled and was thrown aside, he had to throw up a hand to shield his eyes. He should have thrown up a barrier as well, but even the thought of it, the slightest gesture toward the mnemonic made his head split and throb.
"We did it, Kai. Jump Zero's ours."
When he dropped his hand, he blinked up at Shepard, swallowing hard at his words.
He'd done it. Of course he had, because Shepard was a force of nature, and Kaidan hadn't been there to try to argue with the gale. He tried to work moisture into his mouth to respond and then everything was gone.
