She was doing it. Ashley took a deep breath and watched the world beyond the hatch of the Normandy and braced herself. This was the day that she would venture out and try to find out where they were. Maybe if she was able to find someone who was from this place, she could finally get her questions answered. Not to mention they needed supplies for Shep.

So with her pistol at her hip, she walked down and out, slowly making her way toward the structure directly in front of her.

Aria was training with her staff in the courtyard, in the abscence of anything better to do. Hawke was being tended by Varric and Anders now and she was waiting for Dagna to try to reactivate the Eluvian.

But everything will certainly be difficult with the Knight-Commander around...

When she heard steps behind her, she turned to find a human woman with dark hair, wary walking to the main building.

"Hey, you lost or something?"

Ashley studied the woman for a moment. It was an effort for her not to leave her hand hovering over her gun, but then again she was here to make friends not enemies.

"Yeah. You could say that. Do you know what this place is?"

"Sure thing, lass." she waved her hand, as if presenting the main building "This is Skyhold. Well... the Fade version of it, actually."

Aria put her staff behind her back and approached the woman, making a small curtsy. "I'm Aria Lavellan."

Skyfold? Fade? Neither of these sounded familiar. Maybe it was a planet that hadn't been recorded yet. Stranger things have happened.

"Ashley Williams." She held out her hand in greeting. "Though I don't recognize those names. What planet are we on?"

"Planet? Lass, you talk like one of those crazy Orlesian astronomers. I particulary don't see much use charting the stars when we barely charted the land, see?"

She used the blade on her staff to draw a rough map on the ground; a continent with a extensive strait and a mountain range. She placed a spot over the mountains.

"Skyhold is here, just above the Frostback Mountains. To my right we have Ferelden and to my left, Orlais. Across the Waking Sea," she pointed at the strait "we have the Free Marches, Rivain and Antiva. Far northwest, Tevinter and the Anderfels." then, she drew a circle around the continent "The Fade is, hm, another dimension, beyond the Veil, as shemlen mages use to say. It's home to the spirits and dreams. We all visit the Fade while sleeping, we all are going to cross the Fade after our deaths. But we usually only see the Fade through the Veil. Now we're inside the Fade, across the Veil. Don't ask me how this happened, nor how you and your space friends were brought here. This is still a work in progress."

None of this made sense. It must have been another demension. That was really the only explanation. But at least now she had names to tell the others.

"So if this... Fade? Right? Is the land of dreams how did we end up here? When I've never even heard of it before?"
